Duomo tickets and passes at a glance

The cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is free to enter and needs no ticket or reservation. The other parts of the complex are paid, and the "Duomo ticket" people search for is one of three passes: Brunelleschi, Giotto and Ghiberti. They differ in one thing, the climb. Brunelleschi includes the dome and the bell tower, Giotto includes the bell tower only, and Ghiberti includes neither.

All three include the Baptistery, the Opera del Duomo Museum and Santa Reparata. Prices below are the 2026 adult prices. Full price applies from age 15, children aged 7 to 14 pay a reduced price and children up to 6 enter free.

For most visitors who want the dome view, the Brunelleschi pass is the one to book: it is the only pass with the dome and it also holds the tower. For most visitors who skip the climbs, the Ghiberti pass covers the Baptistery, the museum and Santa Reparata for €15. The Giotto pass fits a visit that wants the tower but not the dome's narrow stairs.

How the passes and time slots work

  • Validity: A regular pass is valid for 3 calendar days, counted from the date you choose. It is not a rolling 72 hours. Each included monument can be entered once.
  • One reservation: The Brunelleschi pass needs a booked dome slot, the Giotto pass a bell tower slot and the Ghiberti pass a Santa Reparata slot. The other monuments are open during their normal hours within the three days.
  • First day: The reserved slot falls on the first day of validity. Other included places can also be visited on that first day before your slot.
  • No single dome ticket: There is no regular dome-only ticket and no separate skip-the-line product. The dome comes with the Brunelleschi pass or with a guided visit.
  • ID for the dome: The dome ticket is personalized. Bring an ID that matches the name on it. See the dome climb page for the full rules.

A security check with metal detectors applies at the entrances. A time slot does not let you skip it.

Where to buy and what to know about changes

Passes are sold in the operator's online shop. You create a buyer account, confirm your email address and receive the ticket as a PDF with a QR code. The Brunelleschi pass costs €30 in the operator's shop. If another page shows more, check what the price includes before you pay.

On site, the ticket office is at Piazza San Giovanni 7. It is open Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 19:15 and on Sunday from 10:15 to 17:45, subject to availability. The Ghiberti "on site" pass is a special on-site sale. It is sold only when the regular Ghiberti pass is sold out or closed for the day, and not on the museum's closing day.

The operator rules out changes, cancellation and refunds once a pass is issued. Choose the date with care. A ticket from another seller follows its own terms, so read them. Check the final total at checkout.

Guided visits and who pays less

2026 prices. Open slots on your date are not guaranteed, so check availability before you book.

The Brunelleschi pass costs €30, so a guided dome visit at €50 is the more expensive route if you only want to get up. It adds a guide, not a different view. Guided visits run in Italian and English; French, German and Spanish are available on request. Students can buy a Ghiberti pass for €5 at the ticket office with proof of study, not online. A free ticket for visitors with a disability is issued after proof is checked, and a companion may be free too. The dome and tower details are on the dome climb and bell tower pages, and the times are on opening hours.

If the Accademia is also on your list, the David tickets guide covers that booking.
